Donor Family Resources

We are very sorry for your loss and know talking about this is difficult at this time. We will do our best to respect your time and assist you with the grieving process.

Shortly, you will be contacted by a family services coordinator to ask you if you wish to make your loved ones tissues available for transplantation. If you would like to call us, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-397-3077. We are available 24 hours per day, every day. Becoming a donor is the noblest thing a person can to benefit many other people at the time of their passing.

DO YOU NEED TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS? Click here to print out a sheet which covers the main points of donation to assist your family with this decision. You can also download our brochure (5MB download) by clicking here. Or direct them to this website, www.legacyoflife.net.

This is an important decision that can touch the lives of over 100 people who could achieve a greater, longer life due to your family's generosity. Many families also find great comfort knowing their loved one helps so many people after their passing. In a way, this allows your family member to "live on" through their gift to others.

We realize this is a difficult time and donation is an important family decision. We appreciate your courage in evaluating this option.

However, time is of the essence. There is a limited amount of time between the moment of death and when the tissues can be transplanted. Again, WE WILL BE CONTACTING YOU BY THE TELEPHONE to assess your willingness to consider donation.

While the benefits of tissue can be many, here are but a few examples:

* A young child can walk without a limp or pain
* A person with a heart disorder can live a long, healthy life
* A burn victim can heal more quickly and live a pain free life
* Someone who loses their sight can have it restored
* An individual with a bone tumor can avoid amputation
* A child with spinal deformities can have corrective surgery
* Often, over 100 recipients can benefit from the generosity of just one donor!

To assist you with your decision, we have highlighted common questions families have in your situation. Click here to view the Questions...
